Dispatchers for the SMTD service will be happy to help you plan your trip on the SMTD buses. Be prepared to tell them the intersection closest to your current location, so they can determine the closest bus stop to you, where you want to go, and what time you need to reach your destination. They will be able to tell you where to board the bus, the time you need to be at the bus stop and what bus to transfer to, so that you may complete your trip.

Once you have been qualified to ride the Access Sangamon system, call the number above to schedule your trip. Although you do not have to call in advance, you have a better chance of scheduling your trip at the time closest to your needs if you provide more advance notice. Trips must be scheduled within a two-hour window of the requested time. Consequently, if you request a pick up at 8:00 a.m., the trip may be scheduled anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Problems or Comments?

At any time, if you are not totally satisfied with the service provided by our dispatchers or drivers, for either SMTD or Access Sangamon, please call and ask for the Superintendent of that respective service. If the Superintendent does not resolve your problem to your satisfaction, submit your comments below and it will be reviewed by the Customer Service Department. Anonymous and/or insulting or otherwise inappropriate emails may be discarded by reviewing staff without further action.

ADA Modification Complaint

Any person who believes she or he has been discriminated against in obtaining a reasonable modification under the Americans with Disabilities Act  may file a complaint by submitting a Reasonable Modification Complaint Form.  SMTD will investigate the complaint received no more than thirty (30) days after receipt.  SMTD will communicate results of all complaints in writing or other individually preferred accessible format.
